Happy New Year and Thank you for allowing me to drop into your inbox today. Thank you for taking the time to read the first newsletter of 2021.

It’s hard to believe we are well into the first month of a brand new year. Time certainly fly’s by.

Late last October I heard a quote - loved it so much I immediately wrote it down. The note lost its way in my world of paper and thus I forgot completely about the quote. As a believer of “Everything happens when its meant to” the timing of the note resurfacing just prior to the New Year wasn’t an accident.

A snippet from Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg’s address to the graduating class of Harvard Business School:

“If you’re offered a seat on a Rocket Ship, don’t ask what seat!

Just get on.”

I found lightness, almost a giddy-ness reading Sheryl Sandberg’s words - anticipating a line-up of Rocket Ships.

Dinners with extended family and friends, social gatherings, carpooling, book club, live music, painting class, team sports, choirs choiring, in-person appointments, travel. I’m feeling a joyful anticipation of dreaming and waiting for life’s simple and wonderful Rocket Ship pleasures. The roll-out of a vaccine will do that.

What glorious moments there are looking forward.

The layers of thinking, (and overthinking) will become less and less. The mental clutter of tentative and unsettledness will calm.

Rocket Ship invitations will come my way. I can assure you the seat doesn’t matter. “Put me upfront with the pilot, at the back of the bus, window or aisle seat. It doesn’t matter, it’s a Rocket Ship. I’m getting on!”
