Enjoy a morning half day shared guided tour in a fully equipped coach to Montserrat Monastery and mountain. After driving through picturesque little villages you will arrive at the mountain of Montserrat, which measures a majestically 4,051 feet (1,235 meters). Next, visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of Virgen Moreneta, the Black Virgin. The Royal Basilica has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain for hundreds of years. Day 8: Lisbon
Explore these traditional Portuguese towns starting at the door of your hotel. You will drive straight to Sintra where hundreds of years of history and culture await. Doing a short walk in the old city centre, find yourself surrounded by the old houses that are now converted into small quaint handicraft shops and traditional pastry shops. Continue on to the Pena Palace. Driving around the mountain, pass by amazing chalets and aristocratic residences. As you reach the 19th century Pena Palace, notice the most incredible combination of architectural styles, colors and shapes. After browsing through hundreds of years of history it will be time to relax by driving to the town of Cascais. Once a small fishing village, this town managed to maintain its seafaring traditions combined with the aristocratic and royal presences of the late 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Passing through its animated town centre you’ll find the cosmopolitan life side by side with the Atlantic. The return to Lisbon will follow a very special road named “Marginal”.
