When we leave familiarity behind and embark on a trip, we are presented with the gifts of the world as we explore, discover and learn. Spending time immersed in different cultures, meeting new people, observing and respecting other’s traditions help us to view the world through a more insightful lens. We are more understanding of how we’re all different, and yet the same.

When we travel, not only are we gifted, we help to make the world a better place. Your immediate thought may be, “I’m not Volunteering in Africa, or building houses in India -  HOW does simply packing a suitcase and leaving with Passport in hand make the world a better place?”

Dining out, sleeping over, shopping, purchasing permits, and hiring guides contribute to the livelihoods of families. Spending dollars supports cultures and keeps traditions alive. Travel is one of the planet’s sustainable commodities.

Remember hiring a local guide and hearing the legendary story of Marie Antoinette as your toured the Palace of Versailles? The time you had the best deep-fried pork at an outdoor roadside eatery outside Cusco? Oh, and the perfect hand-loomed carpet and the made-while-you-wait, bursting-with-flavor pomegranate juice at the market in Istanbul? These are things YOU did to make the world a better place.

As you discover the world, make new friends and earn lifetime memories it’s win-win knowing your travel adventure is making the world a better place. It’s easy – all you have to do is have the time of your life.

This concept is so simple, I think it often escapes us.
